The Blade Tops BREEAM Rating in Berkshire
BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) assesses building performance based on a range of environmental credentials and is used across 70 countries. Buildings are responsible for nearly 40 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions and are a major contributor to climate change. Using the BREEAM framework helps buildings to minimise their impact and perform more sustainably. The Blade has been certified with a Very Good BREEAM rating, and rates in the top 13% of all BREEAM In-use International Commercial V6 schemes globally.
This is a fantastic accolade and one which all of us at The Blade are very excited about. We understand that many businesses want to be centred at a location which delivers on sustainability and eco-credentials – as well as more established aspects such as location, transport links and prestige. We’re very proud to have achieved such a high mark of quality for The Blade’s sustainable construction and day to day operations.
The BREEAM assessment covers a wide range of sustainable practices including design, construction, energy use, carbon emissions, water consumption, health and wellbeing, pollution, transport, materials, waste, ecology and management.
