The Blade is Reading’s most iconic office building. Built in 2009, it offers occupiers a highly recognisable and central presence at the centre of Reading’s vibrant and successful business community.

These provide the perfect networking opportunities for occupiers to meet with one another, share ideas and build long lasting working relationships. Events, charity fundraising and social gatherings create positive interactions and help to create and cement a feeling of togetherness and collaboration.

The community spirit is fostered and supported by having an on-site landlord providing a central point of contact for all occupiers, facilitating connections and helping to support growth ambitions through the provision of flexible office space.

Business Partnerships in Reading

Externally, The Blade team work closely with the two Reading Business Improvements Districts (BIDs), The Chamber of Commerce, Reading UK, the Council and various arts and community groups to create a broader network of connections and partnerships that occupiers can access and share.

An iconic office building in a vibrant business area

The Blade has a role to play in encouraging inward investment to the Town and supporting high growth businesses that need flexibility and space to expand on demand. By having a Pure Offices business centre within the building, The Blade can and has offered a supportive ‘incubator’ to new start-ups that enjoy rapid growth but need to avoid the iterative impact that multiple relocations can create.

We were impressed with The Blade from the outset, given that it offered both dedicated lab and office space, the flexibility to scale up quickly, and a fully managed service which allowed our team to focus on the growth of the business.
