Meet the Team – Lucy Burt
What does your role entail?
This is such a varied role! I support our Property Managers, Charlotte and Debbie, with all aspects of property management to make sure everything runs smoothly at our many different properties. I’m lucky enough to visit some of our properties from time to time – my recent trip was to Cornwall! I also help in making sure The Blade website is up to date with news articles and any new available office space.
How long have you been at The Blade?
I joined The Blade in July 2024 and spend four days on site with a day working from home each week.
What is the strangest request you’ve managed?
I’m pretty new to the role so nothing particularly odd has come my way so far – but I’m sure something will!
What makes The Blade such a special place to work?
I’m really proud to be working at The Blade and have been made to feel included really quickly. It’s such a welcoming team and Kevin and Alison are just lovely – always smiling! The way in which The Blade is looked after is very impressive. It’s a lovely environment to be based in and there are lots of additional things which help too – from snack cupboards in the kitchen to free bikes in basement which you can use for a lunchtime cycle.
Hobbies and interests?
I’m very close to my family, and enjoy spending time with them and my Cockerpoo dog Alfie .Being based in Reading means trips to London in my spare time are easy and there’s always something fun to enjoy in the city. I love travelling too and have enjoyed city breaks around Europe – Milan was fantastic – and longer breaks in Cyprus where I’ve been on holiday most years since I was born.
Claim to fame?
My recent work trip to Cornwall saw us bumping into Vogue Williams in the Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa. I’ve also been lucky enough to meet some of the Strictly team and Eastenders cast as part of an event at The O2.
